Georgia Homeschoolers Graduate as Class Members
Date: Wednesday, May 10 @ 12:34:52 MDT Topic: Homeschooling
One of the things often mentioned when discussing the disadvantages of homeschooling is the big graduation party. In Georgia parents are striving to give their children this experience.
35 Homeschool Seniors joined together and graduated at the Georgia International Convention Center. They were joined by Governor Sonny Perdue, who gave the commencement speech, and over 800 witnesses in the audience.
Commencement wasn’t the only big thrill these seniors got to match what they might have expected in a public school graduation. They received class rings, yearbooks and more. They sent out announcements and more.
When I graduated from homeschooling, I was the only one to walk. We did have a nice ceremony, but I think this is great and is such a wonderful recognition of all the hard work on the child and parent’s behalf.
