Topic: Pro-Life

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The 12 Jun 2011 bulletin of St. Dominic Catholic Church announced that Dr. Alveda King is scheduled to speak during the Colorado Springs Juneteenth celebration (commemoration of the ending of slavery in our nation) and Abortion Awareness Month for Black Americans. Dr. King is scheduled to speak at St. Dominic's at 7pm, 18 Jun 2011. According to the 12 Jun 2011 bulletin for Divine Redeemer, Dr. King is also scheduled to speak at Gospel Fest on 19 Jun 2011. According to an African American Voice flier, Dr. King will speak at John Metcalf Park in Fountain, Co at 3pm on 19 Jun 2011.

According to a Priest for Life bio sketch, Dr. King is a “Pastoral Associate and Director of African-American Outreach for Priests for Life and Gospel of Life Ministries.” The sketch continues, “She is also a voice for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, sharing her testimony of two abortions, God’s forgiveness, and healing.”

Dr. King is the niece of the late civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the daughter of the late civil rights activist Rev. A.D. King and his wife Naomi Barber King. According to the sketch, “She sees the prolife movement as a continuation of the civil rights struggle.”

In her writings and speeches, Dr. King attempts to raise awareness of the impact of abortion and the agenda behind Planned Parenthood. In a 31 Mar 2011 article posted on Priests for Life, Dr. King writes, “In recent years, Planned Parenthood centers across the country have been exposed for committing a variety of offenses—including refusing to comply with statutory rape reporting laws and parental consent laws, performing illegal late-term abortions and overcharging clients on birth control.”

In another Priests for Life article, Dr King writes, “Even though blacks comprise only 13 percent of the population, we receive 37 percent of all abortions. Perhaps most revealing -- seven offices of Planned Parenthood were caught on tape this year as willing to accept donations for the sole purpose of aborting black babies.”

In another exposure of the Planned Parenthood agenda, Dr. King wrote, “As Dr. King’s niece, I too once accepted the lies of Planned Parenthood until the truth of the violence of abortion was revealed to me. If Planned Parenthood had announced that over 50 million babies would be aborted in the onslaught of their agenda, I would never have aborted a child. Dr. King would never have agreed with the violent violation of the civil rights of the millions of aborted babies, and Planned Parenthood’s subsequent blitz of women’s health problems related to chemical and artificial birth control methods. This conclusion leads me to remind my readers that I too have a dream, it’s in my genes. How can the dream survive if we murder the children?”
