Man in Mississippi managed to block a gunshot with his wedding ring. He was in the process of showing some potential customers some merchandise when they pulled a gun, shot him and robbed the store. When the man put his hands up, the bullet hit his wedding band and deflected it enough to save his life. He does have some damage to his fingers and part of the bullet is lodged in his neck.
I often wonder where I would be if I had not gotten married. Sometimes I think I would have done so much better, and have lots of money by now. Most of the time I think of how lonely and unhappy I would be though. I wouldn't have my wife, kids, or the motivation that has pushed me to where I am now in life. In this guys case, he might not be alive had he not gotten married.
