Transformation by the Lamb

Scripture:

For Sion' s sake I will not hold my peace, and for the sake of Jerusalem, I will not rest till her just one come forth as brightness, and her savior be lighted as a lamp. And the Gentiles shall see your just one, and all kings your glorious one: and you shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name. And thou shalt be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. You shall no more be called Forsaken: and your land shall no more be called Desolate: but you shall be called my pleasure in her, and your land inhabited. Because the Lord has been well pleased with you: and your land shall be inhabited. For the young man shall dwell with the virgin, and your children shall dwell in you. And the bridegroom shall rejoice over the bride, and your God shall rejoice over you. (Isaiah 62:1-5)

Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit; and there are diversities of ministries, but the same Lord; and there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who works all in all. And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit. To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; to another, faith in the same spirit; to another, the grace of healing in one Spirit; to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the discerning of spirits; to another, diverse kinds of tongues; to another, interpretation of speeches. But all these things one and the same Spirit works, dividing to every one according as he will. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there. And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage. And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus said to him: They have no wine. And Jesus said to her: Woman, what is that to me and to you? My hour is not yet come. His mother said to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do.

Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece. Jesus said to them: Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And Jesus said to them: Draw out now, and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it. And when the chief steward had tasted the water made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water; the chief steward called the bridegroom, and said to him: Every man at first sets forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But you have kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee; and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
(John 2:6-11)

Reflection:

The sorrow of the Lord flows when a nation turns from Him. The joy of the Lord is when the children of His creation turn to Him. It is by no mistake that God created us to live as families, for His desire for us is like that of a parent who delights in the child which learns and grows to bring forth blessings.

To lead His people within His ways, He sent His only begotten Son to become the bridegroom of the nations. Who will take the hand outstretched to them? Who will accept His promise of love, a promise already fulfilled by the bridegroom, simply waiting for the love which should be returned.

God creates each child as unique. To each He has granted different gifts for a benefit; not by chance, but for a purpose. Within each of us, He has placed talents, but He has left us to discover them and how we may share them for blessings He intended since before He formed us in the womb. (Jeremiah 1:5) He is the One to breath life into us. If we are to find the truth of our purpose, we must seek a relationship with the One who made us and set us in motion.

The blessings of all come forth through His Holy Spirit. All which is good is motivated by the Spirit which He sent forth to remind us of His Word (John 14:26) and all the blessings which may be shared by those who seek to learn and live what it means. As we join with the Holy Spirit, we join with the hearts of the faithful through which families, communities and nations are formed to share His blessings and all which He promises to those who live by His Word.

As Jesus performed the miracle at the wedding of turning water into wine, we see but the rudiments of His ability to transform what is within the world to something more. This same power may be applied to us, for through Him, we too, may be transformed from what we make of ourselves to what He intends we should be.

As we have grown from the womb, we are molded in many ways. The world molds us, but for what purpose? Through temptation, we are molded in ugly ways, tempted to live by the design of darkness rather than the design of the One who made the light. If we desire to find the light and be transformed to the light, we must seek the Creator of the light. Just as the light extinguishes the darkness, so too, can He transform us to take us from the darkness.

In prayer, we should seek the transformation which may only come from Him. We should seek to learn from Him what He asks of us and the purpose for which He created us. He will place the answer within our hearts. It is the path we may follow if we choose.

For us to fulfill the purpose for which He made us, we must first trust in Him. Let us accept His promise of love so we might share it for the blessings of all who cross our path. With joy, let us respond to His call to attend the wedding feast where we might be transformed; the wedding feast of the Lamb. (Revelation 19:9)

May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
