The Blessings of Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Scripture:
The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his ways, before he made any thing from the beginning. I was set up from eternity, and of old before the earth was made. The depths were not as yet, and I was already conceived, neither had the fountains of waters as yet sprung out: The mountains with their huge bulk had not as yet been established: before the hills I was brought forth: He had not yet made the earth, nor the rivers, nor the poles of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was present: when with a certain law and compass he enclosed the depths: When he established the sky above, and poised the fountains of waters: When he compassed the sea with its bounds, and set a law to the waters that they should not pass their limits: when be balanced the foundations of the earth; I was with him forming all things: and was delighted every day, playing before him at all times; playing in the world: and my delights were to be with the children of men. (Proverbs 8:22-31)
Being justified therefore by faith, let us have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access through faith into this grace, wherein we stand, and glory in the hope of the glory of the sons of God. And not only so; but we glory also in tribulations, knowing that tribulation works patience; and patience trial; and trial hope; and hope confounds not: because the charity of God is poured forth in our hearts, by the Holy Spirit, who is given to us. (Romans 5:1-5)
I have yet many things to say to you: but you cannot bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will teach you all truth. For he shall not speak of himself; but what things soever he shall hear, he shall speak; and the things that are to come, he shall show you. He shall glorify me; because he shall receive of mine, and shall show it to you. All things whatsoever the Father has, are mine. Therefore I said, that he shall receive of mine, and show it to you. (John 15:12-15)
Reflection:
It was by His wisdom all things were set in motion. He created all there is and all which ever shall be. It is by His wisdom that we exist within His creation and all is set to enable our life and our learning. It was by His wisdom that the children of His creation were formed with conscience and the ability to learn and reason. It is by His wisdom that we were made as creatures capable of compassion, charity and love.
We should marvel at all the perfection in which He has made, how the earth remains at the perfect distance from the sun so that the plants and all the creatures of the earth may grow and how the moon makes the tides flow by which life is stirred within the oceans. If but one thing were to fall out of place within the heavens, all the life which surrounds us would cease. Only by His grace do we walk the earth and carry out our lives.
It was He who gave mankind dominion over the earth so that we might learn from what we do and what we fail to do. It is by wisdom and love where we succeed and the fruits of foolishness and evil by which we fail. Let us, then, lift up our hearts and pray that we may be guided by His wisdom so that we may live in love of Him and in peace with and love of one another.
Through the generations, the children of His creation have struggled with obtaining wisdom and keeping it within their hearts. When they follow God, they find wisdom within His commandments, but as they turn from Him, they are seduced to believe they may find wisdom within their own intellect and judge what is right by their own agendas. As people pursue knowledge of the world, some are tempted to believe that through their knowledge, they have gained wisdom; but the wisdom they presume is only evaluated by their own estimation. (Proverbs 3:1-8; Romans 12, 9-21; 1 Peter 4:1-6) Within their arrogance, they lose sight of the wisdom only He can provide.
Our challenge is that we do not see as He sees, therefore, we interpret our experience through senses which are limited by time and range of observation. Without faith in God, we question our challenges and do not see the opportunities for our learning as we face our adversities. As we work our solutions without Him, we leave ourselves vulnerable to false paths and dead ends.
To teach us and save us from our iniquities, God sent His only begotten Son. Through Him, we receive the light by which those who wander may be brought back from the darkness. Through the teaching of Jesus, we receive the wisdom of the Word. Through His sacrifice from upon the cross, we are forgiven of our sins and by His blood, we are cleansed. As He rose from the dead, He showed us the way by which we may be brought to His kingdom. So that we may not be orphans of the world, He sent us the Holy Spirit so that we might be reminded of all which He teaches. (John 14:26)
In our darkest hours, we are tempted to lose hope, but as we invite the Holy Spirit within our hearts, we will discover the hope only which He can provide. It is for this reason the only begotten Son of God sent the Holy Spirit to fill those He taught so that His truth and wisdom might spread from heart to heart. It is through the Holy Spirit we shall receive the grace of God by which we may face the trials of the world and prepare ourselves for the time He will call us to His kingdom where love is shared by all and evil is not allowed to follow.
We are tempted to seek wisdom through the limits of our own knowledge, but as we ask the Holy Spirit to guide us through His Word, we will discover the truth we may only receive through His grace and mercy. As we share with Him in prayer, He will answer with the blessings of His love. If we allow Him, the Holy Spirit will guide us on our journey and lift us from our failings. He will carry us forward so that we may receive the everlasting embrace of our Savior.
So the world might hear, and for the blessings of the generations to come, He sent forth His disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) It is by the grace of this Trinity we receive the one God who is, was and ever shall be. Let us, then, lift up our hearts in thanks and praise for all the love and blessings we receive through the wisdom, grace and mercy of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
