The Lord painted another canvas of beauty today. Yesterday it was mist and rain and a rainbow. As I traveled towards the mountains, I was greeted with a picture of grandeur dusted in snow. The clouds above were smooth, but in the distance to the north west were clouds reaching down from the heavens with streams of light passing through them like the radiant gown of an angel bathed in light. To the west, another spot light of sun broke through the clouds, highlighting the trees of the mountain side, glistening in sparkling white. So there I was, pondering the passing of summer to snow.
So many times I have traveled towards the mountains in the morning, so many different visions of beauty God has painted for His children from the elements with which He has graced this earth; sometimes adorned in mist, shrouded in fog, covered with a thin layer of clouds, snow, frost or glistening sunlight. The pragmatist would tell me I see nothing but the changing moments of weather, chance happenings with no special meaning, but in the beauty set before me, I see the wonders, grace and blessings of God's creation.
“Seek the LORD while he may be found, call him while he is near. Let the scoundrel forsake his way, and the wicked man his thoughts; Let him turn to the LORD for mercy; to our God, who is generous in forgiving. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts. For just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down, and do not return there till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, giving seed to him who sows and bread to him who eats, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it. Yes, in joy you shall depart, in peace you shall be brought back; mountains and hills shall break out in song before you, and all the trees of the countryside shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:6-12
Pondering in all that I see the hand of God.
