Reflections from a Warm Sunday Past

[Prayer-Soldier]

To all who find these words, blessings;

Below are some reflections pondered from a warm Sunday past.

I sit here on a seat provided by God. When He placed it here, I do not know, but I am thankful that He left it here for me to take a moment of rest. My seat is a rock, which sits upon a hill, allowing me to sit and look over a scene of a small stream with a lone homestead in the distance, buildings constructed more than 100 years ago. I ponder the days of the family that worked the land back then. I wonder what their days may have been. They have moved on, and in a moment, I shall too, but first I must drink in the beautiful day the Lord has made.

The sun is at my back, I can feel its warmth upon my neck. As I look to the mountains, patches of white decorate their crest. The slight wind sways the pines behind me. The sound is gentle and soothing to my ears.

I thank God for this seat He has provided me. His works I see all around me. Such beauty and splendor fills the day; God's gifts to my senses. The warmth, the sound, the beautiful sight, the smell of sage gently lifting from the plants nearby, how can I not be amazed with all of God's theatre.

How can I not be thankful for all with which I have been blessed by God. In this moment alone, enjoying God's wondrous work, I say a simple prayer. Dear Lord, I am grateful for this slice of time You have given me; a moment of rest and peace, a moment free from stress. Whatever I must face tomorrow, I am thankful for this time today.

Dear Lord, You have granted me so much in what You have brought me to. You have blessed me with a wonderful family and many friends that seek to live in Your Word and now this restful moment where I many ponder your creation. Thank You Lord.
