Many blessings to all,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.” Jeremiah 1:5
The Lord spoke these words to young Jeremiah, but Jeremiah shied away because he thought he was too young. God communicated to Jeremiah a purpose, an appointment, a destiny to do the works of the Lord. The Lord did not set this plan after Jeremiah had demonstrated himself worthy of the anointing of God, the Lord set this plan before Jeremiah was conceived in the womb.
While the Lord has conceived His purpose for each one of us, He has also given us free will as to whether we accept that purpose. We may not hear His voice as Jeremiah did, but His purpose for us is there none the less. We each have gifts and talents through which to complete His work, though we may not recognize them. We may not see our purpose, but it is there none the less. The Lord set it for us before we were ever formed in the womb.
To some, it may seem a mystery as to what we could possibly be called to do as we live each day. To some, we may not think it possible because of the sins we have made. It is not ours to worry whether we are worthy to perform the work of the Lord; for Moses, King David, all the prophets and saints committed sin before they responded to serve the purpose of the Lord. All things are possible if we but place our faith in Him.
We may not hear His call directly, but just as He told Jeremiah, He has dedicated us before we were formed in the womb. If we hear His call, we must be confident that He is with us, He will give us what we need to perform His work. If we face persecution, He will give us strength, if we are asked to explain, He will give us words, if we are asked to sacrifice, He will give us courage; what He asks of us is faith.
“Have no fear before them, because I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.” Jeremiah 1:8.
May the Lord be with you,
Prayer Soldier
