Many blessings to all,
In our moments of life in this world, we might stop and ponder, for what purpose did God create us? Jesus told us, “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12)
We might ask, “How possibly could we do anything greater than the miracles He performed?” The answer may not be found in one great work, but perhaps many little works which help to provide comfort to another soul. When we do works in love, in His name, we are living His Word, performing His works.
As we read the scriptures, we are told of great miracles of physical healing, but we must remember, the physical healing of this world is but a brief moment compared to what is accomplished through the healing of just one soul so that it is led to eternal salvation. We do wonderful things by providing for the comfort for the sick, by helping those who are in distress, by giving assistance to those who are poor and in need; blessed are the souls who give of themselves in service of others, but whatever we do, we should remember that all things taken together, the greatest works are those which lead to the salvation of others.
We may not be of great wealth where we can give great sums to help the poor, but we may find we give great blessings through the simple devotion of time to help another. In the passing of each day, one small act of kindness, one small demonstration of love may not seem significant on the surface, but it could be the event which leads to the salvation of another. What we do in His name according to His Word will be significant to Him.
We should not be concerned about the gifts we do not have, but the purpose to which we can put the gifts with which we have been blessed, even if it is but one. If we truly understand His Word, we should know we have all been given the gift to love. It is the greatest gift, for it is through this gift we are able to perform the greatest of His works.
May the Lord be with you,
Prayer Soldier
