The Seventh Day of Advent

[Prayer-Soldier]

Scripture tells us, "The Lord will give you the bread you need and the water for which you thirst. No longer will your Teacher hide himself, but with your own eyes you shall see your Teacher, while from behind, a voice shall sound in your ears: 'This is the way; walk in it,' when you would turn to the right or to the left." (Isaiah 30:20-21)

Our Teacher is the Word made flesh. For our salvation, He was born of the Virgin Mary and became man. He walked among us and taught us the Word. "Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness."? (Matthew 9:35)

The sheep of the Lord are many and His love for His flock is boundless. "At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest."? ( Matthew 9:36-38 )

He sent His disciples out so that all would hear the Word. "Then he summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness."? (Matthew 10:1) He instructed them, "As you go, make this proclamation: 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'"? (Matthew 10:7)

The good news is there for us, to help us, to guide us; a voice He sends for our ears, telling us the path, that we may walk in it, that if we believe and follow in that belief, we will receive salvation through the sacrifice He made for us; a sacrifice made in love so that His flock might not perish, but have everlasting life.
