“In an outburst of wrath, for a moment I hid my face from you; But with enduring love I take pity on you, says the LORD, your redeemer. This is for me like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah should never again deluge the earth; So I have sworn not to be angry with you, or to rebuke you. Though the mountains leave their place and the hills be shaken, My love shall never leave you nor my covenant of peace be shaken, says the LORD, who has mercy on you.” (Isaiah 54:8-10)
As God extended his love to His chosen city of Jerusalem, He extends his love to all His children. The love of God is an everlasting love, though we all have sinned, He still offers His love through His grace and mercy. Forever we are blessed, though the mountains may fall and all the world turns to dust, His love for us shall endure.
As our Lord extends His love to each one of us, should we not seek to return that love? We are blessed that though we may falter and we may sin He still extends His love. He has offered a covenant of peace, it is but for his people to live according to His word and peace will be at hand. His promise is true, His mercy is great and so that we would know, He came down form heaven and became man to tell us of what His love would mean for those who would believe in Him.
Jesus said to the crowd, “I tell you, among those born of women, no one is greater than John; yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” (All the people who listened, including the tax collectors, and who were baptized with the baptism of John, acknowledged the righteousness of God; but the Pharisees and scholars of the law, who were not baptized by him, rejected the plan of God for themselves.) (Luke 27:28-30)
As it was in the days the Lord walked the earth, so it is today that some will follow Him and others will reject that which He asks of His children. Some will heed His Word and His commandments while others shall seek their own designs. Some will say they follow Him, but will allow themselves to be misled because they do not know His Word; they seek to create God in their image rather than living according to the true example of our Lord and Savior.
In those days He healed the sick, the lame, the deaf, the blind; but more importantly He offered healing of our very soul. Our sin is not pleasing to Him; but His mercy is so great, His love is so vast that He does not wish to lose even one of His children. Though His embrace of love is always open to us, it is still our choice as to whether we seek the light or the darkness. The good news is ours if we seek His love. Praise be the Lord.
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
