“For Christ did not enter into a sanctuary made by hands, a copy of the true one, but heaven itself, that he might now appear before God on our behalf. Not that he might offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters each year into the sanctuary with blood that is not his own; if that were so, he would have had to suffer repeatedly from the foundation of the world. But now once for all he has appeared at the end of the ages to take away sin by his sacrifice. Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment, so also Christ, offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him.” (Hebrews 9:24-2
In fear some await the passing of the days while for others they follow pursuits in denial of what is to come. For the faithful, they wait in anticipation of the salvation which will come with the return of our Lord and Savior. He intercedes for us with the Father for through His sacrifice, He is the atonement for the sins of the whole world. He is the Holy Mighty One, the Lamb of God.
In prayer, we should offer thanks and praise for the sacrifice which was made for us. In prayer, we should offer thanks and praise for the blessings provided to us. In prayer, we should rejoice at the coming of our Lord and the salvation He brings.
The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “By the prince of demons he drives out demons.” Summoning them, he began to speak to them in parables, “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him.” (Mark 3:22-26)
While the example of what Jesus said was in reference to the house of the evil one, it is a lesson we should heed for as we are divided amongst ourselves, we divide our own house. What good comes to us through divisions in our faith? Do divisions of faith bring us closer to God? Do divisions of faith bring us closer to one another? Do divisions of faith allow us to experience peace in our day? Do divisions of faith bring the joy of peace and love?
While we may see the lessons of what Jesus taught us, how is it we reconcile divisions of faith? How is it that we use our faith to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ? Did not Jesus tell us not to judge less we be judged? Did He not tell us that we should not seek to remove the splinter from the eye of another when have have not removed the plank from our own?
In divisions of faith, who is right and who is wrong? How do we know what to follow? If we cannot reconcile that to which we are led with the scripture we read, then, we should pray for God to guide us. Jesus told us that those who are humble will be blessed for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Jesus told us that blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. Jesus told us that blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Jesus told us that blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God. Jesus told us that blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God. Jesus told us that blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Jesus told us, blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me. Jesus gave us a new commandment to love one another as He has loved us.
If those who preach to us speak in terms of arrogance, persecution and hate; then, how can what they preach be of the Lord? If they preach of divisions, rather than the love to which He calls us, how can their words be of the Lord? Jesus told us that He would bring division among us, but not because He wishes to see us divided, but because He knows some will understand the Word and follow Him while others will fail.
If we do not know if we are being truthfully led by what we are being told, we should seek understanding in prayer, for He will guide us. We may not see in the moment everything by which God tries to lead us, but as we keep Him in prayer, as we pray for wisdom, He will reveal the false prophets, He will reveal the deceivers so that we do not remain in their traps.
May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
