Our Choices Reveal Our Soul

Jesus said to His disciples, "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away. Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth." (Matthew 13:47-50)

We are tempted to wonder, why are the wicked allowed to torment the lives of the faithful? The answer is found in the time in which we live. Here, in this space, each soul shall reveal what is within it by how they choose to live. For a time, the good is mixed with the bad, but the day will come where each soul shall be examined and it will be determined who is among the righteous and who is among the wicked.

Many live oblivious to what Jesus seeks to teach us. They have not heard the Word. Still others have been blinded to its meaning. They are vulnerable to the seductions of wickedness. The results of their choices ripple to all who surround them.

The good news of the Lord is the forgiveness which was purchased for us upon the cross. As we are given the opportunity to hear His Word, as our eyes are opened to see, we are able to see who we are and who we might be. Through His forgiveness, we have the opportunity to change the direction of our life. If we see that our choices may be counted among those of the wicked, then, we have the opportunity to confess our sins, receive His forgiveness and change our choices.

Blessed are those who seek His forgiveness, for they shall be brought to the kingdom of heaven.
