Good News vs. Bad News |

I have been watching the news a little more closely lately, and it is very depressing. Among headlines: “Woman uses 4 month old as bat against boyfriend”, “Babies found wrapped in bag under house”, and of course all the child abduction cases, sexual assault cases from teachers and other horrible crimes. I began to lose faith in our country and all the sickos out there.
I now feel a little better about where we are heading. While most of the country is headed downhill, I was able to find 2 great stories that give me hope.
Georgia is close to approving Bible classes in public schools! The fact that it has made it this far in the decision process is wonderful. There is great expectation that this will go through, and while it will not be a mandatory class, will count towards main credits as literature or history (depending on which class you take). I think this is wonderful! Even the Georgia ACLU has approved it.
In Colorado a woman who has been stuck in a vegetative state for 6 years “wakes up.” The last I heard she is slipping away again though. This does speak volumes for cases like Terry Schiavo though. Christa Lilly has been eating via feeding tube for over 6 years. I saw video of her on TV and she looked and acted like any normal person. She looked a little week, but after 6 years, that is to be expected. After Lilly relapsed her mother and caregiver Minnie Smith said: "The good Lord let me know she's alright, he brings her back to visit every so often and I'm thankful for that." Even better, her come backs inspire faith in God for those around her.
While there is much to be ashamed of, and depressed about in the world today, and it seems as though only the bad stuff is newsworthy, sometimes the good things shine through. Please help my search for good, click on "News Submission" link in the menu to send us your good news. Let us know that there are still good things that happen every day.
God Bless
