Divine Mercy Sunday? What is this, what do you mean Divine Mercy?
Divine Mercy Sunday is set to remind us of this mercy that we must spread and to raise awareness of the devotion to His Most Divine Mercy.
Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish Nun who under the advice of her spiritual director, kept a diary which started this devotion back in 1930 and is very much alive today. This 600 page diary looks at the most commonly spread message and adds a new twist. God is Merciful and we too should show mercy and forgiveness. We are also called to realize that God’s love is unlimited and available to everyone. Saint Faustina Kowalska died in 1938, but not without leaving a legacy behind.
The message of Mercy is simple: God Loves ALL OF US. He loves us all, no matter what we do. He wants us to know that His love is greater than any sin. We can go to Him anytime, anywhere and trust in him. We are also called to live in God image. We should be merciful to others as God is to us and ask His help to aid us in this task.
His message can be remembered by thinking ABC.
A – Ask for His Mercy.
B – Be Merciful.
C – Completely trust in Jesus.
