To all who see these words, may the peace of God be with you;

Prayers For The Power of Forgiveness

Let us pray that we may comprehend the power of forgiveness. Heavenly Father, we are too often tempted to seek vengeance for the wrongs we believe are directed against us. We pray that You will guide us through such moments so we do not fall to the weakness of holding grudges, but that we may instead, let go of their burden and turn to the healing power of forgiveness. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

Dear Lord, we pray You will grant us the wisdom and strength to not count the slights against us, rather that we may focus upon the love which we may share.

Dear Lord, we pray in thanks and praise for the blessings of Your great mercy.

Dear Lord, we pray You will help us see how we may find strength in the mercy we give.

Dear Lord, we lift up our hearts in thanks and praise for the sacrifice made so we may be forgiven of our sins and cleansed of our iniquities.

Dear Lord, we pray You will grant us the wisdom and strength by which we may humbly express our remorse for our transgressions.

Dear Lord, help us to comprehend where our desires for vengeance only serve to add to our wounds.

Dear Lord, we lift up our hearts in thanks and praise for Your teaching of the power of forgiveness.

For these and the prayers in the hearts of all the faithful, we pray in the name of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Let us pray that as we travel our daily journey, we will not allow ourselves to be consumed by the transgressions directed against us. Heavenly Father, when we are wounded by injustice or the perception of injustice, we too often fail to see how our wrath and anger imprisons our heart in darkness. We pray You will help us to see the opportunity we have to heal through the power of forgiveness and by following the example of Your great mercy. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
