OPINION: On 1 Jun 2012, the movie, “For Greater Glory,” opened in movie theaters across America. As usual for any film with a moral connection, the film is being panned by movie critics, but you know a film captivates the audience when only a few get up to leave when the credits begin to roll. Most of those in the screening I attended remained seated until the film stopped rolling. The audience remained captivated by the eyes looking at them, through pictures from another generation, of those who stood for their freedom.

COLORADO SPRINGS: On 19 May 2012, Catholics in Colorado Springs, CO attended a prayer vigil for religious freedom. The group stood together in a parking lot adjacent to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. This was but one of a number of events where Catholics have begun to come together to discuss how to influence their political representatives to prevent Legislative and Executive Order intrusions upon the religious freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

An 11 Jun 10 FOX News headline reads, “Lady Gaga is the Latest Celeb to Abuse Catholic Imagery in Hollywood's 'War on Religion.'” The FOX News article reported that Gaga has a new video which combines strong sexual content with distorted Catholic imagery. In her recent video “Alejandro,” the imagery begins with a surreal militaristic tone, switches to that of a funeral procession, then proceeds to alternating images of suggestive scenes and Gaga in priest's vestments and a nun's habit. At one point, while in a latex habit, Gaga ingests a rosary into her mouth.
