Today is a day for us to reflect where we are at and where we are going. We all have moments that perhaps we wish we could get back or would never have happened. We sometimes are shaped by unfortunate events. No matter how we desire, perfection is something which eludes us, for only He is perfect.
The ways of the world are challenging and temptations are beguiling. We fall to sin, but we are told that there will be a time of change, “But a very little while, and Lebanon shall be changed into an orchard, and the orchard be regarded as a forest! On that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book; And out of gloom and darkness, the eyes of the blind shall see.” ( Isaiah 29:17-18 )
On that day, some will continue to fail in their belief, but for others, great hope shall be revealed. “When his children see the work of my hands in his midst, They shall keep my name holy; they shall reverence the Holy One of Jacob, and be in awe of the God of Israel. Those who err in spirit shall acquire understanding, and those who find fault shall receive instruction.” (Isaiah 29:23-24)
Our eyes do not need to be closed for us to be blind. Some may see the wonders of the world, but their soul remains sightless of the Word. No matter how long we have lived in the darkness, no matter how long we are blinded by the world, we are blessed for the Lord remains with us; patient in His eternal love. If we but ask, He will lift our blindness and reveal to us the blessings of the Holy Spirit.
As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!” When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” -- “Yes, Lord,” they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” But they went out and spread word of him through all that land. (Matthew 9:27-31)
Through prayer, He will open our hearts, He will open the eyes of our soul. As the light of the Word illuminates us, can we hide the good news? “For so the Lord has commanded us, “I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth.” The Gentiles were delighted when they heard this and glorified the word of the Lord. All who were destined for eternal life came to believe, and the word of the Lord continued to spread through the whole region.” (Act 13:47-49)
“The LORD is my light and my salvation.” (Psalm 27:1) Blessed be the Lord. Amen.
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
