Many blessings to all,
Jesus told us, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him.” Mark 3:24-26
While Jesus spoke these words with Satan as the example, the same principle applies to the church Jesus built upon Peter - Matthew 16:18. We cannot stand as Christians if we are divided against ourselves. There is that which is of God and that which is of man. While we will continue to have differences among men, we must seek unity through the ways of God, else through our differences we find our destruction as Jesus has warned.
We have also been warned of false prophets who will seek to mislead us. “There were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will introduce destructive heresies and even deny the Master who ransomed them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. - 2 Peter 2:1” Through prayer, He will guide us away from the deceptions. Working together in faith, hope and charity; working together in love of God and one another in fulfillment of the greatest commandments, we can leave behind the divisions leading to destruction.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, grant me the wisdom to see through false prophets.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, guide me through the shadows of this world so that I am may find the light to Your kingdom.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, guide me to others with whom I may work in faith, hope and charity.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, guide me to others with whom I may work in love to fulfill Your greatest commandments.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for those You have sent in my path that I may be guided to You.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, as I learn from those You have sent to guide me, may I live as an example for others.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, I am thankful for the church you built upon Peter to care for Your sheep; may I help build it and protect it against those who would seek to divide it.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
“For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by the people of Chloe, that there are rivalries among you. I mean that each of you is saying, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I give thanks (to God) that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one can say you were baptized in my name. ..... For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with the wisdom of human eloquence, so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:11-18
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
