There are those who believe they worship God, but look at their actions and we see they only worship death. God is the God of life, the God of the living, the promise of eternal life.
Death is final, with no further promise. How could death be the point of any worship? How are people to emulate the God of the living if they promote death of others who exist in this world? How do we fulfill the commandment to love one another if our answer is the death of innocents?
We are told in the scripture that there is a time to fight. He has given us the right to defend ourselves, but we do not have the right to murder and slaughter.
We pray for those who defend us, but there is no joy or satisfaction at what must come at their hands. We must prepare to defend against those who would harm us and we pray for God\'s strength, but it would be far better if we may find the means to resolve in the favor of the living.
Death is of the dark one and darkness. What power lies in the void, only the eventual promise of nothingness. How could this possibly compare with the God of light, the God of everlasting life. If we feel, understand and believe in a God of love, how then could we follow those who would seek to only produce death?
The purveyors of the dark one offer words of deceit. We must pray for the wisdom to know when our armies must defend us and the lives of the innocent. We must carefully watch for those who preach death for any other cause.
From the moment of conception, a life begins with all of its potential. God has given us free will, and in that free will, we may make many choices, but we must remember, we will be held accountable for the choices we make. If our choices lend us to taking the life of an innocent, what do we expect God\'s response to be? Even if we finally understand the sin and tragedy of our actions, even if we seek to repent and ask forgiveness, what must we live with? And if there is no remorse, there is only darkness, no hope of light.
Dear Lord, I am thankful for what you have sought to teach us. I am thankful that we should have the hope of eternal love, of eternal life.
Dear Lord, I am sad when my actions are not consistent with how You have instructed us, with how You have encouraged us to be. If we simply lead our lives, all of us, according to Your Word, our troubles would be much fewer. The struggle of Your children is a tide ever shifting. I pray for Your strength and guidance to be part of the momentum to fulfill Your will, to follow You into the light, to help bring others to life everlasting. I pray for the forgiveness of my sins, my weakness. I pray for the soul of others, that they may turn away from the void of darkness and turn to You, Your Word, and Your promise of ever lasting life, Amen.
Peace be with you,
Nam Eno
