Many blessings to all,
How great the world would be if each of us tried to do but one thing a day as God would have us do. God calls us to do great things and grants us gifts through which we may perform works in response to His call.
At times we make mistakes and as we look back upon those moments we might think that since we have sinned, how can we be worthy to do the works of God? We must remember that no one is perfect as He is perfect. It is no wonder, then, that all the martyrs and saints were also sinners, but it did not stop them from turning to do the work of the Lord.
While we may have not been perfect in what we have done, looking back does not drive that which we can do. God invites us to look forward to what we are capable of doing if we but trust in our faith and what God will enable us to do.
And if we do not know what God would have us do, we should spend some time in prayer, listen, and we will come to know. It is a successful day if at the end we can pray, “Dear Lord, today I served You.”
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, in sin I have failed you, yet You have not abandoned me. Praise be the Lord.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, guide me to that which You ask me to do that I may live according to Your Word.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, gifts You have granted me through which I may perform Your works; help me to know how to best to serve Your call.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, I know it is sometimes the smallest works which have the greatest need; if I am not called to do great works, then may I do many small works well in service to others.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, You called us to love one another; guide my works that I may do each in service and love.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, in my hour of need, You have sent others to care for me. Praise be the Lord.
A simple prayer: Dear Lord, as others have done for me in love, may I also do for others in fulfillment of Your commandment to love.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
“Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:11-13
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
