Blessed are those who believe in the Son of Man, the Lord and Savior of all. We are told, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) The good news is for all for the scripture says, “there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him.” (Romans 10:12)
While the good news is for everyone, the news must also be heard; for it to be heard, it must also be proclaimed; for it to be proclaimed, those who believe must speak and share that which is in their hearts. If we remain silent in our faith, then, how deeply do we believe? If we remain silent because of what we fear others might think, then, what is more important to us, our social standing or our soul; and if we believe the good news is for all, what have we done for our neighbor if we do not let them know?
The choice of belief lies within the heart of each person who hears, but what choice is given if the faithful chose to remain silent except in their places of worship? As we prepare to celebrate the coming of our Lord, let us rejoice with glad tidings of great joy, sharing gifts of the heart, gifts of the soul and testimony of the greatest gift of all, that salvation is offered to all who believe in the only begotten Son of God. Let us not just speak the good news, but let us also live by example the true meaning of the Word, the fulfillment of the commandment to love.
Jesus told Simon who is called Peter, and the brother of Peter, Andrew, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19) And so, Jesus taught them and the good news was spread from one to another, bringing hope and light to the world. As God invited Peter and Andrew, so too does he invite each of us to share that which is in our hearts. Let us also spread the light of the love of God so that all may rejoice.
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
