What does a man or a woman gain if he gains approval of the world but loses God? What does a man or a woman gain if they win success, fame, fortune, but loses their family or their souls. He merits nothing or worse. What does a man or a woman do if they laugh or scoff or are bitter at priests, children, co-workers, or their family? Are they not laughing, scoffing, or being bitter at Children, Images of God?
"Seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness and everything will be given to you besides."
Therefore, don't worry about how the world sees you, only how God sees you. Be hard on yourself, but easy on others; don't laugh, scoff, or be bitter at the other person next to you, you don't know what their relationship with God is like. Pray for them, they are Children of God. Pray for the world, and someday we won't be worried about fame or fortune, but rather on world peace and the love of God!
"Thy Kingdom Come!"
