Dear Lord,
You granted to women the gift to bear children. At the time of conception of a new life within a female's body, a woman is transformed into a mother. As a new life is forming, a woman begins a journey that can take many turns. We pray that you send the Holy Spirit upon the hearts of mothers to give them strength; strength to nurture, strength to love, strength to deliver the life growing within them and strength to love, care for and guide that life in faith as the child continues to mature.
Dear Lord, you also granted the gift to women to be mothers of children, though those children may not be of that woman's womb. May such mothers be as blessed in their vocation of caring for children. The vocation of motherhood is a special one in that it is the one that nurtures our generations. Through a mother's love, may the faith of our generations grow.
