Who (indeed) is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:5)

Victory over the world is victory over that which shall pass. What is of this world is only temporary, but that which may be lived through our Lord and Savior is eternal.

Now the testimony of God is this, that he has testified on behalf of his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever possesses the Son has life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:9-13)

As the Son is in the Father and the Father is in the Son, then for those who believe in the Son and live in that belief will find the life of the Son within them. Though we may pass away from this world, He conquered death, therefore, if He is in us, we will conquer death as well. This is the promise of God for His children, but it is up to each of His children whether to accept the gift of God.

Now there was a man full of leprosy in one of the towns where he was; and when he saw Jesus, he fell prostrate, pleaded with him, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I do will it. Be made clean.” And the leprosy left him immediately. Then he ordered him not to tell anyone, but “Go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” The report about him spread all the more, and great crowds assembled to listen to him and to be cured of their ailments, but he would withdraw to deserted places to pray. (Luke 5:12-16)

Jesus performed great signs of healing for those who believed in Him. He would sometimes tell them, “Your faith has healed you.” His works were so all would believe the authority given to the Son by the Father. While many came to Him to be cured of their ailments, His desire was to cure the greater afflictions of sin. While we may face the challenges in this world of physical ailments, blessed are we that we may be healed of the afflictions of our sin.

In prayer, we should give Him thanks and praise for the sacrifice He made for us that through our faith in Him, the afflictions of our sins may be removed from us so that we may have everlasting life with Him in the kingdom of heaven.

May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
