His Love is so Great, He Forgives Those Who Sin

Scripture:

Thus says the Lord, who made a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters. Who brought forth the chariot and the horse, the army and the strong: they lay down to sleep together, and they shall not rise again: they are broken as flax, and are extinct. Remember not former things, and look not on things of old. Behold I do new things, and now they shall spring forth, verily you shall know them: I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall glorify me, the dragons and the ostriches: because I have given waters in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, to my chosen. This people have I formed for myself, they shall show forth my praise. (Isaiah 43:16-21)

Furthermore, I count all things to be but loss for the excellent knowledge of Jesus Christ, my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them but as dung, that I may gain Christ. And may be found in him, not having my justice, which is of the law, but that which is of the faith of Christ Jesus, which is of God: justice in faith. That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings: being made conformable to his death, if by any means I may attain to the resurrection which is from the dead. Not as though I had already attained, or were already perfect: but I follow after, if I may by any means apprehend, wherein I am also apprehended by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended. But one thing I do: Forgetting the things that are behind and stretching forth myself to those that are before, I press towards the mark, to the prize of the supernal vocation of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:8-14)

And Jesus went unto mount Olivet. And early in the morning he came again into the temple: and all the people came to him. And sitting down he taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees bring unto him a woman taken in adultery: and they set her in the midst, and said to him: Master, this woman was even now taken in adultery. Now Moses in the law commanded us to stone such a one. But what say you? And this they said tempting him, that they might accuse him. But Jesus bowing himself down, wrote with his finger on the ground. When therefore they continued asking him, he lifted up himself and said to them: He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again stooping down, he wrote on the ground. But they hearing this, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest. And Jesus alone remained, and the woman standing in the midst. Then Jesus lifting up himself, said to her: Woman, where are they that accused you? Has no man condemned you? Who said: No man, Lord. And Jesus said: Neither will I condemn you. Go, and now sin no more. (John 8:1-11)

Reflection:

As it has been through the generations, a time of change has been in the air; but some expect the change to come from the Creator, rather than the created. From each generation comes another and a time will come where each shall be responsible for raising the next, the passing of a legacy through time. And so it comes to pass that with each beginning an end shall come; but not so with the Creator, for He that is now and ever shall be has always been.

The Creator looks upon each generation and what it has done, the blessings it has raised and the legacy it has left. What is wicked shall be wiped away and tossed to the fire. What is pleasing to the Lord shall be gathered to remain forever with Him. Blessed are those who seek to be with Him, for what they leave behind them are blessings for the generations to come.

The people who seek their own way, who seek to change the Creator to their desire, will find a path of folly and misery. The legacy the misguided shall leave can only end with pain and tears. Their pursuits, made up of only what is found in this world, shall be ground down. The legacy they leave brings no blessings, only that which will be cutoff from the kingdom of heaven.

As it was with the first, there are those in each generation who rebel against Him, failing to understand His ways, their sin brought forth to weary Him. They seek to change what was created to their own desire, but they do not see how what they do plays into the hands of the evil one. He forgives their transgressions; but they persist, blind to what they do, blind to the misery they cause, blind to the harm which they bring forth.

Blessed are those who seek to go where their Savior leads, for they will leave behind the folly of the world for the blessings of the kingdom to come. All that one may hold in this world cannot be taken from it; therefore its worth is fleeting and empty. What one may receive through the Word of God is eternal; therefore, it is folly to pursue things of this world instead of that which shall be forever.

Those who are lost in this time, who seek to find their way through their own designs, shall remain lost for they do not seek what will carry them beyond the world. The blessing of the Word is the light it brings to those who are blind, the light which frees all from the pursuit of that which has no meaning.

For some, the Word is but letters and symbols, but in blindness, they are unable to see the truth of meaning. They are willing to judge, but are not able to withstand judgment. And so it was that the self-appointed came to Him, full of judgment, but blind to how they may be judged for their own sin.

He offers forgiveness, but He does not do so because the sin is not wrong. It is because of the love He has for the children of His creation that forgiveness is possible. It is because He seeks that they may learn to love as He loves, that they may sacrifice for one another as He sacrificed for all. If the children of His creation were true to His commandments to love, they would have a different world, they would find a world without the depth of divisions and sorrow which is brought forth through sin.

And so it is that His love is so great that He loves those who sin and is willing to forgive; but those He forgives He asks that they go forth to sin no more. In such moments, many fail to understand how they may be forgiven, yet held to account. They do not understand that what is difficult for them to comprehend is simple for God. And so it is, some will see and some will learn, but others shall choose to remain blind.

May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
