To all who see these words, may the peace of God be with you;

Prayers For Those in the Vocation of Marriage

Let us pray that God will guide those He joins within the sacrament of matrimony. Heavenly Father, You created us such that through the sacrament of marriage between a man and a woman, the generations might be formed. The strength of our society depends upon the strength of marital love shared by those You join together. We should not be surprised, then, that the evil one works so hard to destroy what is formed in marriage. We pray you will extend your hand of protection over all who are joined in matrimony so that what you join together, the evil one cannot separate. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

Dear Lord, we pray You will help those who receive the seal of matrimony to see the great gift of love they may share and which they many invest in the fruits of their marriage.

Dear Lord, we lift up our hearts in thanks and praise for the blessings brought forth by matrimony.

Dear Lord, help us comprehend what Your Son taught so we may turn from our stiff necked ways.

Dear Lord, we lift up our hearts in thanks and praise for the example of love which was given to us through Your only begotten Son.

Dear Lord, we pray You will defend those who are joined together in matrimony so they many not be separated through the temptations of the evil one.

Dear Lord, we pray You will guide parents in how they may teach and raise their children so our youth are prepared to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.

Dear Lord, we pray You will enable Your church to protect and support the special gifts You have given to us through the sacrament of marriage.

For these and the prayers in the hearts of all the faithful, we pray in the name of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Let us pray that as we travel our daily journey, we will enable those who enter into the sacrament of matrimony. Heavenly Father, the evil one attacks, with ferocity, those who are married and the families they lead. Should he weaken them, the consequences ripple through our families, communities, and nations. We pray You will grant the wisdom, courage, and strength to every man and woman You bring together in matrimony to resist the sabotages of the evil one. We pray You will help us all to support and enable the institutions which enable loving families. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
