To all who see these words, may the peace of God be with you;

Prayers for the Strength to Give and Receive Mercy

Let us pray for the strength of giving and receiving mercy. Heavenly Father, though Saul lay asleep and defenseless before David, David did not allow the slaying of the king who sought harm for David. Instead, David looked to You, and in Your image, David acted with mercy. We pray every heart may be granted this strength and that Your mercy shall be extended to all Your faithful. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

Dear Lord, we lift up our hearts in thanks and praise for the mercy You pour out upon Your faithful.

Dear Lord, we pray You will grant us the wisdom, courage, and strength by which we approach one another with the blessings of mercy and forgiveness.

Dear Lord, as we walk the journey of our worldly ways, we pray You will help us see how we may prepare our souls and bring heavenly ways to our days.

Dear Lord, we pray You will help us turn from our worldly ways to the ways of heaven.

Dear Lord, we pray You will grant us the wisdom, courage, and strength by which we may turn the other cheek.

Dear Lord, we pray You will strengthen our leaders to encourage us in the ways we may accomplish all which is right and just.

Dear Lord, we lift up our hearts in sorrow for the ways we have failed You and ask for the blessings of Your mercy and forgiveness.

For these and the prayers in the hearts of all the faithful, we pray in the name of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Let us pray that as we travel our daily journey, we shall be guided in how we may approach one another with the blessings of mercy and forgiveness. Heavenly Father, the ways of evil oppress us. As we are wronged, we are tempted to vengeance, but Your council of mercy and forgiveness is wise as through it we may end the cycles of conflict and hate. We pray You will grant every heart the wisdom, courage, and strength by which we may share the blessings of mercy, forgiveness, and love. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
