The Word and Choice

God created a world for us. It is a temporary world in which we exist. In it, we progress from day to day, moment by moment, action by action, choice by choice; manifesting ourselves in what we do and what we fail to do.

In this world, God has given us His Word, that we may share it. God has given us His Word that we may seek to understand it, that we may seek to live by it. God has sought to communicate His Word in many ways, through angels, through prophets, through inspired writings, through messages to those with open hearts and the gift of discernment. For God so loved the world, He sent His only begotten son and manifested Himself in flesh so that the Word became flesh and the Word was with us. In the days He walked the world amongst us, He taught us the Word, so that who so ever believed in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life in God\'s kingdom; the kingdom of heaven.

To believe in Him, we must believe in His word. To believe in the Word, we are called to live the Word. To live the Word, we must use it to guide what we do in our lives and how we relate with others.

God has demonstrated great patience with us. When we fail to live according to His Word, when we miss the mark of His teaching, we are in sin. But God loves us so that He sacrificed Himself so that we may be forgiven for our sin, that when we are weak and succumb to temptation, that we may still have the chance to repent and try once more to live according to His word.

In this world, we manifest ourselves, we reveal ourselves, we show what is in our souls. We have the freedom to choose goodness or evil. In our sin, we unwittingly follow evil. When we live the Word, we live in God\'s goodness.

While God has given us the freewill of choice, He has not left us alone; He is with us; but, we must choose to let Him in our lives. And so, He has given us prayer that we may seek His help, that we may seek His forgiveness, that we may ask His blessings for others, that He may protect us from evil; so that in the end of the trials of this world, we may be cleansed and join Him in the kingdom of heaven.

Dear Lord, by myself, in my existence in this world, I am not worthy. I know that each day is a battle in what I do and what I fail to do. I know the battle is in my soul to manifest my actions according to Your Word or to fail in the struggle against temptation, resulting in sin. With each sin, I stain my soul. I pray for Your forgiveness, that you cleanse my heart. The battle is mine to lose, but if I hand it over to You, through You, I cannot fail.

You are my Deliverer, my Salvation. In my faith in You, I cannot be afraid. The battle for my soul belongs to You. Whatever I may face in this world, You are my strength, my guide. Praise to You for Your love, Your grace, Your mercy and Your forgiveness. Amen.
