“Before him in shame shall come all who vent their anger against him. In the LORD shall be the vindication and the glory of all the descendants of Israel.” (Isaiah 45:24-25)
The conflicts of men are often found in the arguments as to what to believe about their Creator. Some attempt to create God in their image while others attempt to dismiss the existence of the Almighty. Divisions are driven by those with agendas, but agendas which are not the way of the Lord. Divisions are driven by wolves in the clothing of sheep, deceivers walking in the ways of sin; the illusions of power and worldly designs consume them, luring them into darkness.
For many reasons there are those who turn their back on the Lord; perhaps they fear judgment, perhaps they seek to deny what their sin may bring, perhaps they have fallen to the deceit of the evil one. Some express offense that others would have faith in the Lord. Some cry out to the law of the land that any mention of Him is oppressive, that all should be free of the sound of His name. For what reason could the God of love drive such feelings if He does not exist?
Jesus said to the disciples of John, “And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.” (Luke 7:23)
He came for our salvation that should we believe in Him, we may be forgiven our sins; purified that we may enjoy eternal life in the kingdom of heaven. He told us the meek shall inherit the earth; to the poor and oppressed He has come to give hope; to each of His children He offers love, love He asks in return. Why then, would anyone take offense of the Almighty who teaches love?
As we prepare for the coming of the Lord, let us remember that to fulfill the commandment to love, it is not enough to love those who are close to us, but to love those who are different from us, those who are not tolerant of us, those who would seek to persecute us. We should remember in prayer all the children of God so that all might see, so that all may offer worship and praise, so that none shall take offense that our Redeemer, our Deliverer has walked among us and will come again. Praise be the Lord.
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
