Sent by the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

Scripture:

Ask of the days of old, that have been before your time from the day that God created man upon the earth, from one end of heaven to the other end thereof, if ever there was done the like thing, or it has been known at any time, that a people should hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of fire, as you have heard, and lived: If God ever did so as to go, and take to himself a nation out of the midst of nations by temptations, signs, and wonders, by fight, and a strong hand, and stretched out arm, and horrible visions according to all the things that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt, before your eyes.

Know therefore this day, and think in your heart that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and in the earth beneath, and there is no other. Keep his precepts and commandments, which I command you: that it may be well with you, and your children after you, and you may remain a long time upon the land, which the Lord your God will give you. (Deuteronomy 4:32-34, 39-40)

For whosoever are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For you have not received the spirit of bondage again in fear: but you have received the spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry: Abba (Father). For the Spirit himself gives testimony to our spirit that we are the sons of God. And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him. (Romans 8:14-17)

And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And seeing him they adored: but some doubted. And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world. (Matthew 28:16-20)

Reflection:

As people have walked the earth, so too has God walked with them. Some are pleased to find Him. Some have heard Him and share His Word as His prophet. Many have felt Him in their hearts. Some see How he works in their lives. Some are not aware how He is there. Some seek to walk away from Him. Some seek to oppose Him.

The hearts which remain near to Him know His blessings. Those who seek to follow His commandments find peace. Those who wander from Him are at risk to the ways of the world and the deceptions of evil. Those who find Him find the way of love.

Many do not understand the freedom which is offered through the acceptance of the Holy Spirit. When we become selfless, we free ourselves of the bonds of selfishness. Through selfishness one will always thirst and will never be fulfilled, but selflessness finds many opportunities. When the heart is filled with the Spirit of God, selfishness has no place for the calling of love is to provide for the blessings of all. He suffered for us so that we might find peace, but peace will only be found if we set aside the ways of the world and seek the ways of His Word.

Because of the freewill God grants to the children of His creation, many are tempted to believe that the power of the world belongs to them. They do not understand that what is done by man is only allowed by God so that His children will learn. Some will come to understand His ways, but others cannot see beyond they view of the world. Emperors and Kings and those of other positions will do as they please, but what power they believe is theirs will not have meaning. The only power of meaning is that which is granted by God.

Jesus came to His disciples and revealed to them that the Father has given to the Son all the power of heaven and earth. With this power, He can command all things to include all hearts and minds, but the purpose of the Father is not served unless the choice to follow Him is freely the choice of the children of His creation. And so, He sent forth His disciples to all nations to teach them the ways of the Word. He sent them to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit so that all might know the One God in three persons. He sent them to do all these things so the people might see and the purpose of God might be served.

In this time, some will seek their own ways or the ways of false leaders. They will ignore Him and while away their time with pursuits of the world. They will set their own rules and violate His. They will pursue their logic, conceived through the wisdom of their own eyes. They will impose restrictions upon others. They will fail to respect the sanctity of life. They will remove the rights granted by the Creator. All these things will happen and strife will come of them. Evil will spawn evil, but evil will not prevail.

Those who find wisdom and strength through Him will find the way to oppose evil. Some will share the Word. Some will bring new souls into the world. Some will worship. Some will pray. Some will provide for those in need. Some will find lost souls. Some will encourage those in crisis. Some will walk beside those who live in doubt. All who are blessed with the understanding of the Word will share in the love and glory of the Lord and love of one another as He commanded the children of His creation. Through fulfillment of His commandments, many blessings will be found.
