To all who see these words, greetings:
Grace of the One Who Was Pierced
Scripture:
And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, and of prayers: and they shall look upon me, whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him as one mourns for an only son, and they shall grieve over him, as the manner is to grieve for the death of the firstborn. In that day there shall be a great lamentation in Jerusalem like the lamentation of Adadremmon in the plain of Mageddon.
In that day there shall be a fountain open to the house of David, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: for the washing of the sinner, and of the unclean woman. (Zecharia 12:10-11, 13:1)
For you are all the children of God, by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek: there is neither bond nor free: there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:26-29)
And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples also were with him: and he asked them, saying: Whom do the people say that I am? But they answered and said: John the Baptist; but some say Elias: and others say that one of the former prophets is risen again. And he said to them: But whom do you say that I am? Simon Peter answering, said: The Christ of God. But he strictly charging them, commanded they should tell this to no man. Saying: The Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the ancients and chief priests and scribes and be killed and the third day rise again. And he said to all: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: for he that shall lose his life for my sake shall save it. (Luke 9:18-24)
Reflection:
His desire for us is grace. His desire for us is love. His desire for us is to love Him and to love one another; but it is the way of men and women that they struggle with that which brings conflict among them and hate to their tongues. Greed and envy consumes them. He looks upon them and sees their weakness. He desires the salvation of every soul, but the choice of what they do is left to them. So that all might be cleansed of their iniquities, He sent the One who would clean the eyes of the sinner so that they may see the light of truth, the light of ever lasting love, the light of salvation.
Through the house of David He sent Him for the blessings of the generations; for it was not just those who witnessed He came, but all the children of His creation. Those who understand what He brings both grieve and rejoice; for through sin He is rejected, but through His sacrifice, the sould may be cleansed.
Blessed are those who have heard and see what was done for them, for they know His love and the opportunity they have to return and give that love. Those who see what love brings will also know what may be given through love. It is what men and women fail to set aside which yields hate and strife, for in their selfishness, they cannot yield love. Love is the light which sheds the darkness. Love is the water which quenches the eternal thirst of selfishness. Love is the food which feeds the soul with eternal life. Love is there for all if they allow Him to enter their heart and allow Him to guide their lives. It is when they turn to that which is false that they fall to the pain of their own ways.
Those who witnessed saw the Word, the truth and the light which was before them. Those who witnessed saw the wisdom which He teaches. Those who witnessed saw, but only the few understood and accepted Him. Those who remained blind would fulfill what was in scripture and pierce Him so that the generations would weep at what they had lost and rejoice at what they had received. Those consumed by their sin would reject Him, but those sorrowful for their sin would accept Him and be saved by Him. In prayer we should offer thanks and praise that it is so. In prayer we should ask that we are led in how we might shed our selfishness and spread the blessings of His love.
May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
