In sacrifice for our sin, the Son of Man suffered upon the cross. It was not for the sin of but the few that screamed He should be crucified, that fixed the crown of thorns, that wielded the whip, that mocked Him, that scorned Him, that drove the nails, that thrust the spear in His side; no, it was for the sin of all; the sin committed through all the generations from the first created by God until this very day and days yet to come. We cannot look upon one another with judgment for who crucified our Lord, for we must start with who we see in the mirror; it was our sin which was partially responsible for what was prophesied and what would come.
In prayer, we should ask forgiveness for the pain we caused the One who was sacrificed for us, the Lamb of God who was sent to take away the sins of the world. In prayer, we should reveal our sorrow for what we have done and what we have failed to do contrary to that which God asks in love of His children. In prayer, we should offer thanks and praise for the grace and mercy offered to us so that we might be forgiven and that we have the opportunity to repent for falling short, for when we miss the mark of what our Creator asks of us.
Dear Lord, we pray in sorrow and ask forgiveness for the pain we have caused through our sin.
Dear Lord, we thank You for the blessing of Your sacrifice so that the sin of all may be forgiven.
Dear Lord, we pray that those who spurn You will come to understand before they forever lock out Your love and mercy.
Dear Lord, we pray that the hearts of those clouded in a culture of death are softened so that they see that death ends choice, but only the blessings of life open a world of choice.
Dear Lord, we pray that the lives of all Your creation are protected from the time of conception until natural death.
Dear Lord, we pray that as we pass from this world, that You will not look upon our sins, but the passion of our love for You.
Dear Lord, we pray in thanks and praise for Your mercy so that all who come to You through Your only begotten Son may live with You forever within the kingdom of heaven.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
And going a little further, he fell upon his face, praying, and saying: My Father, if it be possible, let this chalice pass from me. Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will. And he came to his disciples, and found them asleep, and he said to Peter: What? Could you not watch one hour with me? Watch ye, and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak. (Matthew 26:39-41)
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
