“When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11
As children grow, they are called to learn and mature. To guide a child to responsible adulthood, a parent must be patient, guiding and forgiving. And so it is with the Lord, as we are called to prepare for the kingdom of heaven, in the failures of our sin, our Lord is patient, guiding and forgiving.
As we assume adulthood, to what are we called? Our call is to be Christlike in our journey to join our Savior in heaven.
“So when he had washed their feet and put his garments back on and reclined at table again, he said to them, "Do you realize what I have done for you? You call me 'teacher' and 'master,' and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do." John 13:12-15
Jesus' message to us was to be loving and serving of one another. Think of what our world could be if we followed His commandment to us?
“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.” John 15:12
Please join me in prayer that the world be guided to the light of our Lord's commandment.
Dear Lord, we ask that you touch the hearts of your children that they may understand and live according to your will. We pray that our hearts are turned from sin and our souls healed. We pray for the strength to live according to your commandment to love one another as You love us. If we all were able to follow in the light of this commandment, all the strife that man causes man would disappear from the face of the earth. May your will be done. Amen
Will you also ask your family and friends to join in this prayer?
“Again, (amen,) I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.” Matthew 18:19
May the peace of the Lord be with you.
