I am the LORD, your God, who grasp your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13) In our moments of sin, we turn away from the helping hand of God. With our back to Him, He is still willing to grasp our hand, the only question remains, are we willing to turn and allow the helping hand of God grasp ours?
We may feel confident in our affluence and power of position. We may feel confident through our ambition and success. We may feel confident in our ability to control the outcomes of the world, yet, in a moment, all of our work, all of our material wealth, all that we think is important may be taken from us. In the moment of today, all is well; but where will we turn when tragedy strikes, when we are beset by the world, when all is stripped from us and we are naked to aggression, we are naked to all forces beyond our control?
Though we are concerned with what is now, it is not as important as the concern we should have for the time beyond this world. We should think for a moment what is here and what is now as compared to what is in the hereafter.
“Amen, I say to you, among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” (Matthew 11:11) While we may falter in this world, the good news is that our sins will be washed from us when we enter the kingdom of heaven. What taints us here will not be allowed to remain. We are what we choose to be, but we are blessed for our Lord tells us, “Fear not, I will help you.”
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
