Blessed are the Nations Which Stand Under God

Scripture:

Thus says the Lord God: I myself will take of the marrow of the high cedar, and will set it: I will crop off a tender twig from the top of the branches thereof, and I will plant it on a mountain high and eminent. On the high mountains of Israel will I plant it, and it shall shoot forth into branches and shall bear fruit, and it shall become a great cedar: and all birds shall dwell under it, and every fowl shall make its nest under the shadow of the branches thereof. And all the trees of the country shall know that I the Lord have brought down the high tree, and exalted the low tree: and have dried up the green tree, and have caused the dry tree to flourish. I the Lord have spoken and have done it. (Ezekiel 17:22-24)

Therefore having always confidence, knowing that while we are in the body we are absent from the Lord. (For we walk by faith and not by sight.) But we are confident and have a good will to be absent rather from the body and to be present with the Lord. And therefore we labor, whether absent or present, to please him. For we must all be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the proper things of the body, according as he has done, whether it be good or evil. (2 Corinthians 5:6-10)

And he said: So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the earth, and should sleep, and rise, night and day, and the seed should spring, and grow up whilst he knows not. For the earth of itself brings forth fruit, first the blade, then the ear, after wards the full corn in the ear. And when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest is come. And he said: To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? or to what parable shall we compare it? It is as a grain of mustard seed: which when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that are in the earth: And when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches, so that the birds of the air may dwell under the shadow thereof. And with many such parables, he spoke to them the word, according as they were able to hear. And without parable he did not speak unto them; but apart, he explained all things to his disciples. (Mark 4:26-34)

Reflection:

What is low the Lord may raise up. What is weak, the Lord may make strong. The wicked may have a day in this world, but eternity belongs to the Lord. Blessed is the nation which stands in faith of God, for His blessings will fill the hearts of the people. The nation which seeks Him in prayer and keeps Him in their heart will not falter and will flourish. The nation which keeps His commandments will know the blessings of love and will stand strong in the face of evil. The fortunate should remember that what He gives may also be taken away should the people turn from Him and seek their own path.

As we seek Him in prayer, we remain close to Him and will be guided by Him. There are many moments for us in this world, but we will not understand true fulfillment until we are with Him in heaven. Till that time, our moments are best fulfilled through our pursuit of the blessings of His Word. We may be told many things and many will seek to explain what they do not understand, but if we seek His truth, we will not be deceived by the world.

In prayer we should ask that our leaders are not deceived into misguided logic. In prayer we should ask that our government is not seduced through the arrogance which comes from the belief that our fortunes are from the toil of people alone. In prayer we should ask that evil is not wrapped in good intentions designed to mislead the people away from the truth. Through our time in prayer He will guide our heart so that when the day comes for us to stand to account for what we have done and what we have failed to do, our faults will be few.

The wicked should fear what will come on the last day, for their deeds will be remembered. The evil may laugh in this moment, but the moment will come where their arrogance will turn to anguish. Woe will come to those who have fallen and seek to seduce the faithful away from their God, for the time will come when He will hold all to account. In that time the unfaithful will clearly see the inheritance which could have been theirs, but by their own choice, they placed beyond their reach.

God works through the people of the nations; therefore, if the people seek His ways, they will pursue ways of strong character, charity and love. They will achieve great things for they will put their hands to His works, caring for one another and living in love of Him. The nation which turns from Him will find false paths and false pursuits which may deceive some as noble for the moment, but will not be able to hide forever the misery which awaits.

Our choices are many, and we have the gift to pursue many paths. Who we are is determined by what we choose to pursue. We may measure our success by our own perception or we may leave who we are to Him. If we trust in the Lord, we will find happiness in the smallest of things. Whatever the moment, the moments we share with Him will take us well beyond where we can take ourselves.

Many measure their success by what they find in the world, but they fail to understand that the greatest of riches cannot be held for they come first through the Lord. The blessings of love cannot be measured in silver. The peace of the Holy Spirit may not be bought with gold. Fine silk and the softest furs may not match the touch of God within our soul. One who knows the riches of the world, but does not know God has less than the one who has nothing, but is filled with the Holy Spirit. No matter the trial or tribulation, the one guided by the Lord will endure.

May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
