The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me: he has sent me to preach to the meek, to heal the contrite of heart, and to preach a release to the captives, and deliverance to them that are shut up. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, and my soul shall be joyful in my God: for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation: and with the robe of justice he has covered me, as a bridegroom decked with a crown, and as a bride adorned with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth her bud, and as the garden causes her seed to shoot forth: so shall the Lord God make justice to spring forth, and praise before all the nations. (Isaiah 61:1, 10-11)

Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In all things give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you all. Extinguish not the spirit. Despise not prophecies. But prove all things; hold fast that which is good. From all appearance of evil refrain yourselves. And may the God of peace himself sanctify you in all things; that your whole spirit, and soul, and body, may be preserved blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is faithful who has called you, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-24)

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to give testimony of the light, that all men might believe through him. He was not the light, but was to give testimony of the light.

And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent from Jerusalem priests and Levites to him, to ask him: Who are you? And he confessed, and did not deny: and he confessed: I am not the Christ. And they asked him: What then? Are you Elias? And he said: I am not. Are you the prophet? And he answered: No. They said therefore unto him: Who are you, that we may give an answer to them that sent us? What say you of yourself? He said: I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Isaiah.

And they that were sent, were of the Pharisees. And they asked him, and said to him: Why then do you baptize, if you are not Christ, nor Elias, nor the prophet? John answered them, saying: I baptize with water; but there has stood one in the midst of you, whom you know not. The same is he that shall come after me, who is preferred before me: the latches of whose shoe I am not worthy to loose. These things were done in Bethania, beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
( John 1:6-8, 19-28 )

What are the riches of gold and silver compared to the riches of the Lord? The day will come that we will not be able to carry the smallest nugget of gold or coin of silver, but the richness of the Lord will still fill our hearts and all with whom we share. Blessed are they who are filled with the Lord for they will have riches to give beyond measure and will grow ever richer for what is given shall also be received.

We may clothe ourselves in the ways of this world, but what garment can compare to what is provided by God? In this time, we cannot truly understand the expanse of blessings which come from our Lord. We may seek to explain through what we perceive of the riches of this world, but such explanations cannot reveal any measure of the true value of what awaits us in the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who share the Word of God, for the gift they give is beyond measure and many will the gifts be that they shall receive for what they share. Blessed are those who hear His Word, for no matter the trial, no matter the tribulation, they will find comfort and strength to bear through Him. No matter the injustice of people, He will have the ultimate hand in holding the unjust to account.

It is our choice of what to make of each day. We may look for that which annoys, for that which makes us unhappy, for that which makes us dissatisfied; or we may look for the blessings of our day. For each moment we dwell upon our blessings, it is one less moment we dwell upon worries. In prayer we should give thanks for every comfort, for every moment of joy, for each minute of love we receive.

His love is everlasting and through His love we are fulfilled. His love is eternal, there is no minute which passes where He does not remember us. Whenever we feel the most alone, we will find He is with us with all His glory, strength and compassion.

What if we were called to spread the Word of the Lord? What if we were called to suffer persecutions for heralding the Word of the One true God, the One who seeks the salvation of all the children of His creation. What if we were but a lone voice in the desert, crying out to tell all who hear to prepare for the coming of the One who will provide salvation?

Let us not shrink from our calling, for He calls all to share His Word. We do not need to shout from the roof tops, we do not need to preach from street corners; we only need to be an example of His love to proclaim loudly the Word of the Lord. What we do in loving service of others speaks louder than whatever can be spoken in words.

Blessed are they who share of His Word, for they will not only share great blessings of comfort, they will receive great blessings for all who are comforted. Though some will stand to mock the Word, and others will stand to oppress the believers of the Word, we should have no fear for all who mock, all who oppress will find that the time will come where they can no longer ignore the truth. Those who receive the Word will receive the truth and the blessings of the truth, but those who turn from the Word will only find the deception of evil and the eternal misery of its ways.

May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
