The great news we anticipate is that our Lord and Savior has invited us to live forever in the house of His Father. We are told “On this mountain he will destroy the veil that veils all peoples, the web that is woven over all nations; he will destroy death forever. The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces; the reproach of his people he will remove from the whole earth; for the Lord has spoken.” ( Isaiah 25:7-8 ) It is the desire of God that His children shall be saved if they but look to Him. “On that day it will be said: “Behold our God, to whom we looked to save us! This is the LORD for whom we looked; let us rejoice and be glad that he has saved us!” (Isaiah 25:9)
This is the Word of the Old Testament; scripture which is prophecy for all faces, the people of all nations. Then, for our salvation, He came down from heaven, and from a mountain He healed the sick and lame and fed the hungry in fulfillment of the scriptures. “At that time: Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there. Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them.” (Matthew 15:29-30) “He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. They all ate and were satisfied. They picked up the fragments left over--seven baskets full.” (Matthew 15:35-37)
The prophecy of the Old is fulfilled in the New through the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior. All matter of strife is wiped away, death itself loses its power; what would we do if we were there to see scripture fulfilled? What would we do if we saw scripture fulfilled today, and yet, if we but look, we do.
Some believed because they were told, some believed because they had seen, generations have believed for what they have been told what others have seen; blessed are those who believe in what is yet to come for once again, scripture shall be fulfilled. It is with great anticipation we await the second coming of our Lord and in this time that we await, let us offer thanks and praise in prayer for what miracles were seen and the blessings yet to come.
Through scripture and prophecy we are told, our Lord came down from heaven, he lived to teach us, he suffered, died and was buried; on the third day, He rose to conquer death; we believe He will come again to judge the living and the dead and that who believes in him, who professes their faith, will be blessed with eternal salvation. And in this time, while we wait for Him to return, let us honor our faith by living according His commandments, the greatest of which is to love.
“Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come.” (Psalms 23:6)
May the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
