The One Sent To Bring Salvation
Scripture:
Behold my servant, I will uphold him: my elect, my soul delights in him: I have given my spirit upon him, he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor have respect to person, neither shall his voice be heard abroad. The bruised reed he shall not break, and smoking flax he shall not quench, he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not be sad, nor troublesome, till he set judgment in the earth, and the islands shall wait for his law.
I the Lord have called you in justice, and taken you by the hand, and preserved you. And I have given you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles: That you might open the eyes of the blind, and bring forth the prisoner out of prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. (Isaiah 42:1-4, 6-7)
Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God. And every one that loves him who begot, loves him also who is born of him. In this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep his commandments. For this is the charity of God: That we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not heavy. For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory which overcame the world: Our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus Christ: not by water only but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit which testifies that Christ is the truth. And there are Three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. And these three are one. And there are three that give testimony on earth: the spirit and the water and the blood. And these three are one. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony of God, which is greater, because he has testified of his Son. (1 John 5:1-9)
And he preached, saying: There comes after me one mightier than I, the latches of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. I have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit. And it came to pass, in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in Jordan. And forthwith coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens open and the Spirit as a dove descending and remaining on him. And there came a voice from heaven: You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased. (Mark 1:7-11)
Reflection:
If we examine the expanse of our history, we will find horrific evils which have befallen the children of His creation. Through generation after generation, the tragedies and pain have ebbed and flowed. No heart has been left unscathed. Though He has sent His angels and prophets, so many have turned from Him and suffer the consequences of their ways.
Despite the failings of the generations, His compassion remains and His desire continues that all shall learn to live according to His commandments of love. Still, so many in the world remain blind to the evil which seeks the doom of their very soul. They embrace the darkness, failing to understand the pain and destruction which flows from it.
To open the eyes of the world, He sent His only begotten Son. Through Him, the light of His love shines unto the people. Though He has given sight to the blind, so many refuse to see. Blessed are those who come to His light, for to them shall be revealed the blessings of love.
If we study His Word, we shall learn the depths of His love. If we seek to live by His commandments, we shall leave behind the misery of evil. Left unto themselves, the children of His creation continue to fail to comprehend what is possible by following His light and instead allow themselves to be consumed by darkness. Alone, they cannot hope to fight the seductions of the evil one, therefore, He sent His only begotten Son so that all who take His hand shall be gathered in His kingdom to leave behind the tragedies of iniquity.
The eye which chooses to see shall see the light and the ear which chooses to hear shall hear the Word. He came to help all who wish to see and all who wish to hear. He came to baptize them in Spirit and the blessings of His love. Let all the children of His creation rejoice, for no matter what evil brings to the world, He has come to gather the faithful to join Him forever within the blessings of His kingdom.
May the peace and blessings of the Lord be with you always,
Prayer Soldier
